After Effects Title Sequence and stuff...

  

It's that time of year again....for me to be ill! I always get ill at Christmas time or anytime in general and this year Tonsillitis decided to leave me bed ridden for a week :O Thought you all should know.... Haha. Slowly getting better now after seeing the docs but this is why I haven't posted any stuff. (I have an excuse :P)  I wanted to hopefully get some business stuff done by now to put up but nothing yet. So...it's gonna be an After Effects related post. This is the low quality version of it. We don't get marked on the drawings but on the effects used and was told to stop spending time on the final look, but I think that's what lets it down now. I wanna do it again with everything drawn and coloured. Theres also some lil bits that I didn't have time to do before the deadline. I somehow went down this dark look, I think mainly to save time on the images used but it makes my tv series look quite scary. I even used the Beetlejuice theme for the music. My tv series/short was supposed to be a comedy...

Creepy Man and His Pipes

What am I drawing?? This is something I'm doing for my title sequence. I was trying out a different style which I like but I realised it doesn't really link to the characters of my pre production work. Looks like a title sequence for some sort of horror. Ahh well, gonna carry on with it. No time! Deadlines in 3 days :O Anyways gonna see if I can make those pipes move as the camera pans upwards onto the guy. Prob not gonna happen...

Digital Paint - More Houses!

I can't decide if I wanna do my final backgrounds in traditional paint or digital. I'm torn! This is a test for the stylistic considerations for my project.

I'm sick of drawing houses now! The bottom right one is the one I'm looking at doing for me overall neighbourhood. I really need to go back and do some character stuff as I still don't know what my characters are gonna look like. Uh Ohz. Looooads to do! Colour Test

I spoke to me tutor the other day and he said I should start getting some colour on my work such as colour keys, styles. I need to do more drawing! But I thought I would try and quickly colour some of the houses I've already drawn. I think I spent too much time at the beginning then realised, it's just a blimmin test! I quickly finished it as I was getting annoyed and weirdly my photoshop was playing music??? Gangster rap music??? I closed all my webpages, my itunes wasn't even up and after I closed photoshop the music stopped. Odd. Anyways heres me colour test. Don't really like it so im gonna experiment with another style when I get more drawing done.

Character Malarky

Just some initial ideas and character stuff. I was experimenting to see if it's better to draw more close to human life or to have it cartoony. I still can't decide.

Houses and Perspective

I've spent all the weekend trying to learn a bit more about perspective as I really like drawing backgrounds but I find that's the area that lets me down. We've started initial ideas for our major projects in uni and I have to make an art book of my chosen idea for a tv series, short etc. I've been struggling to think of ideas, I've just been wasting days sat looking at the computer screen hoping some idea would just pop in my head. That didn't happened. All I got so far is about this "perfect world" with a secret hiding underneath it all. I don't even know what the secret is yet! It's all about this weird character who moves in to this society and uncovers their secret maybe. Anyway I wanted to design the neighbourhood for this kinda idea so weekend full of houses it was! After putting them up, I've realised some of the perspectives are wrong already...more practice it is.

I realised I hadn't got round to posting me final flash piece. I didn't know how to embed it from deviantart so I've started uploading it to vimeo.......so I shall put it up if it ever finishes uploading. :D

Flash!

Back in uni now and the first project back is a 30 second animation made in Flash. I'm the design side so I was going to make a short animation that goes into an interactive game but that went tits up. I started the animation and that ended up being 20 seconds, oops! So I just carried on with it and it just kept getting longer and longer without no ending. I only managed to get it down to 50 seconds for the deadline tomorrow. I need to try and upload it but it's a hugeee file. I'll just post some jpegs for now.

I've been to Florida twice when I was younger but I really wanna go to all parts of America. So I decided to draw something associated with Americano so I drew a very cheesy picture of Obama.

I've been pretty rubbish with this 30 day challenge so I ended up doing 3 days of drawing all today. Only managed to photoshop one of them so far so I'll post that up soon. I decided I didn't wanna draw a full sunday cooked dinner so I drew a disgruntled yorkshire pud! My scanners in my Cardiff home so I had to make use with my rubbish camera.

I initially did a lil doodle and I really really wanted to colour it! He looks so sad... Only something done quick as I was watching some programmes on 4od this morn!

30 Day Challenge

Decided I need to do much more drawing so I've started the 30 day drawing challenge. Thought it would be good idea as then I will be drawing everyday. Hopefully I won't forget and will keep it up! The first one is to draw yourself and I thinking of a scenario that has happened recently that I can draw myself in. The other day I bought some new clothes but I managed to ruin them within a day when I went to McDonalds, because I'm incapable of eating without getting anything down me. I never like doing line drawings as when I scan them they just don't look the same. I just wanna Photoshop everything. Here's my drawing anywho. I look perdy :P

Finally added colour, slightly messy though...I think I just wanted to get it done quick. Oopsy.

Old Peepz

I haven't drawn for a while and I want/need to get back into it! I thought I would take a week off after uni but it suddenly grew without my control to nearly 2 months. Woops. I drew this old couple a few days ago and my friend was telling me story about her grandparents which made me laugh so I'm basing it around them. She was telling me how they love the birds in the back garden and that they went out and bought water pistols to shoot at the cats and made home made sling shots to get rid of the squirrels. Nutters! I didn't realise what I said then...there was no pun intended! Anyways I would like to Photoshop them and experiment with a different way of styling me characters.

I've finished uni now so been lazing around for a while, but fancied doing some drawing! Decided to experiment with Corel Painter so I painted....a tree!

Characters in Situation

Finished uni and got my results and found out I got a first for my major project! Pleased and quite surprised. Still a lot of aspects I need to improve on, I need to practice poses, anatomy and basically more character design. I want to try and do a bit of animating too this summer so I'm thinking of designing another E4 sting. I've got an idea in my head, so when I get some drawing done I shall have to put it up here.

Anyways best post all my final images now so here are my characters in situation. I had to photoshop a bum!

Black Swan Animatic!!

After loads of stress and many tutorial trying to work out After Effects, I completed my animatic. Overall I quite like it and actually enjoyed using the program in the end. I would like to make the actual title sequence at some point...perhaps this summer.

Line up Colours

Now I know all the colours I'm using for my characters I've created me line up. However after speaking to my tutor the sizes are going to be changed...Buzz is just too huge. Here's the rough line up anywho.
